What defines a friend? Someone with whom you can have several types of relationships and feel several different emotions. I loved Kathy. At times I knew Kathy was upset and my aggressive personality wanted to comfort her. We usually made a joke of it and then laughed and went on our way. Shortly before Kathy’s return to her HEAVENLY FATHER she signed a book she had given me. She wrote “May you always find joy in the simple things” That is what she did. Sometimes after lunch we would play checkers at the Cracker Barrel in the nice weather. We would laugh at each other when one would make a move you didn’t see coming. Kathy loved life to the fullest. She had more patience than anyone I knew, or still to this day know. Her constitution was something to be envied. I told Kathy how she had helped me in my personal life and that I desired more of her qualities. That little statement pleased her very much and she thanked me for telling her. That told me that Kathy was very conscious of her actions and tried to live her beliefs to the fullest. She wanted to let Christ’s Love shine through her. Again I say, Thank you Kathy.   There were three of us ladies that played together. I say play because during these times we were but little girls in heart. We gossiped, laughed at our lives, and never missed an opportunity to have lunch together. We were three amigos. So diverse in personalities it was hard to believe we enjoyed each other’s companies. That is what friendship is all about. Touching each other’s lives. Be there when you feel you can comfort them, even in the smallest way. Although we started out as three in the flesh, we are still three. One has gone on and gotten a lunch place for us to gossip, laugh, and fill each other on the latest news. I know in my heart one of the main topics will be awesomeness of our LORD and thank HIM for bringing the three of us together. A friend can be considered a shadow; that is what Kathy is to me now. She will always be my shadow and I will never forget her. See you later alligator.
